Mutthirai, a Vision Jeeva Studios film, is directed by Srinath, director Jeeva's assistant. The title of the film Mutthirai stands for "Seal" officially and also suggests unofficially as leaving your mark or stamp behind.

Broadly it is a story of a sophisticated tech-savvy criminal who befriends another amateur but street-smart con guy who together plan and execute various frauds ranging from cyber crimes to humorous con-acts. Parallel to this is a political situation that is unfolding as an assassination which somehow connects itself to the two heroes.

The film has been shot mostly in and around Chennai with songs shot in picturesque Mauritius. It also has a pacy item number by the Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant. Lakshmi Rai will be seen for the first time in a role that ranges from girl-next-door to glamourous.Manjari Phadnis, fresh from her success in the film "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa", is introduced for the first time in Tamil Cinema in a charming,peppy role.

The story and screenplay is by Anees Tanveer, Jeeva's wife. Salim, one of Jeeva's assistant cinematographers, is responsible for the hip look and feel of the film.The Film is co-produced by ASA Productions and Enterprises with Vision Jeeva Studios.

This film, where his assistants are directing and handling cinematography by themselves is a 'Dream Come True' for the late Director.
